NFL – Bears match offer sheet for Fuller, sign him to 4-year deal
The Chicago Bears have matched the Green Bay Packers’ offer sheet for cornerback Kyle Fuller and signed him to a four-year contract.  The Bears announced Tuesday they are retaining Fuller.  A person familiar with the situation said Friday that Fuller signed an offer sheet with the Packers. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because neither team had announced that move. Fuller had 22 passes defensed and two interceptions last season. He emerged as a key player after struggling in 2015 and sitting out 2016 because of a knee injury. General manager Ryan Pace says the Bears “could not be happier to have Kyle under contract for four more years.”  Chicago finished last in the NFC North at 5-11 last season.

NFL – Colts try to solidify offensive line by adding Slauson
The Indianapolis Colts have signed free agent offensive lineman Matt Slauson.  Terms of the deal were not immediately available. The addition of the 6-foot-5, 315-pound Slauson may finally help solidify the interior of a line that has struggled to protect Andrew Luck since he entered the league in 2012. He has played both guard and center. Slauson has started 108 games since being selected by the New York Jets in the sixth round of the 2009 draft. He spent his first four seasons with the Jets, joined the Chicago Bears in 2013 and then wound up with San Diego in 2016. He played two seasons with the Chargers, who moved to Los Angeles last season.

NCAAMBB – Freshman leaves Oklahoma for NBA
Oklahoma star freshman Trae Young is leaving for the NBA after a standout season.  The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 27.4 points and 8.7 assists this season, and many projections have him going early in the first round. He posted the reasons for his decision on ESPN early today, saying he was ready to put in the work needed to play in the NBA. Young ended the regular season as the national leader in both scoring and assists. He closed the season with 28 points and seven assists in Oklahoma’s 83-78 overtime loss to Rhode Island in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

NCAAWBB – NCAA women’s tourney attendance at highest level since 2008
Attendance for the first two rounds of the women’s NCAA Tournament is the highest in a decade, with an average of 5,067 fans taking in the first 48 games.  Defending champion South Carolina led the way with 11,085 fans in the Gamecocks’ opening-round win. SEC rival Mississippi State followed with 10,211 in the opener on its home court.   The NCAA provide the numbers on Tuesday.  NCAA basketball officials are hoping for more strong numbers at the regionals this weekend in Albany, New York; Kansas City, Missouri; Spokane, Washington; and Lexington, Kentucky. Albany has already sold nearly 7,600 tickets.  Last season’s regionals were at a 20-year low for attendance. The Final Four is in Columbus, Ohio.
