Democrats in the state House are making their agenda for this coming election known. At the top of their list is fixing Michigan roads. State Representative Jeremy Moss of Southfield says the additional funding recently passed by the House and awaiting a Senate vote is not enough.

“We voted on additional road funding last week, which is woefully short of what we need to fix the roads,” says Moss. “Democrats actually offered further funding for the roads, and Republicans shot those amendments down.”

The suburban Detroit lawmaker says the slew of potholes popping up all over the state and angering drivers is proof lawmakers have not done enough to maintain the state’s infrastructure. Democrats haven’t had control of the state House since the waning days of the Jennifer Granholm administration.
