The Michigan House on Wednesday voted to spend $175 million more on road repairs. State Representative Beth Griffin tells WSJM News the move comes just as the state is hit with a fresh new round of potholes and other road problems.

“It’s incredibly great timing, and this time of year with the freeze and thaw cycles, we all know where those potholes are popping up,” Griffin said.

Griffin tells us the House vote set aside $669,000 for Van Buren County, along with $16,000 for Bangor, $20,000 for Hartford, $41,000 for South Haven, $17,000 for Lawton, $20,000 for Mattawan, and $26,000 for Paw Paw. Griffin notes the funding was all left over from last year.
