The St. Joseph-Benton Harbor Rotary Club Foundation has announced its grant recipients for 2017. Foundation Secretary Bob Judd tells WSJM News the group is giving out a total of $58,000 to local non-profits this year, about in line with what it normally gives out.

“Our focus here is our well-being and youth, that sort of thing,” Judd said.

The biggest Rotary grant is $9,500 to the Sarett Nature Center for a bird of prey enclosure. Other grants include $7,500 to Curious Kids Museum, $8,000 for Senior Nutrition Services, and $7,800 for Second Harvest Gleaners Food Bank of West Michigan. Judd tells us the Rotary Foundation has managed to give out $830,000 in grants since 1997.
