Three people are locked up in the Van Buren County Jail as the result of a fight in downtown South Haven. Police were called around 7:30 Wednesday night and got there fast enough to stop the suspects as they tried to get away. Two of them were armed with loaded handguns, both of which had bullets in the chamber when they were seized by police. Packaged marijuana was found in their car, which police say was stolen last week in an armed home invasion in Geneva Township. That theft is under investigation by the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department. No names have yet been released, but South haven Police say the suspects are a 30-year-old Covert man, a 21-year-old South Haven man, and a 20-year-old man from Bangor. They are expected to face several charges including carrying concealed weapons, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
