A celebration of mammals is taking place at state parks all across Michigan this week. Mike Latus is an explorer guide at Warren Dunes State Park who tells WKZO News the program there this week will offer lots of information on squirrels.

“Because we have so many squirrels with all of the acorns in our oak trees,” Latus said.

Not only will they talk squirrels this week at Warren Dunes, but there will be special programs help to educate the public each day. On Wednesday, you can see the skins and skulls of various critters that live at the park. On Thursday, they’ll talk about deer. Friday, there will be a program on how to recognize mammal tracks, and Saturday, they’ll focus on bats. You can find out more right here.
