Strengthening Michigan’s economy by offering more for the people who live here and training for the future. Speaking Thursday on Mackinac Island, Governor Rick Snyder says there is a major “talent gap” in the state.

“The question is no longer, ‘Is there a job?’” Snyder said. “We’ve got over 100,000 unfilled jobs in Michigan tnat are good, well-paying jobs. The question is how do you get the skills to take that role.”

Part of the answer, Snyder says, is focusing on those STEM careers early-on in education. He delivered a keynote at the Mackinac Policy Conference.
