83 Michigan veterans of World War II and the Korean War have been able to see their memorials in Washington, D.C. thanks to the latest Talons Out Honor Flight. Talons Out Vice President Dan Moyle tells WSJM News they left Kalamazoo Saturday and had a great time. Then, there was a big reception when they came back the same night.

“The reception is always one of the things that these veterans talk about for years,” Moyle said. “Once again, the reception was absolutely amazing. Our community comes out in force. We have somewhere around 2,000 people shake the hands of the heroes of ours.”

Moyle tells us the rain in D.C. Saturday didn’t ruin the experience for the vets. The next Talons Out Honor Flight is being planned for this fall, and you can donate to make it possible at TalonsOutHonorFlight.org. Moyle says they just want to help these veterans see their memorials while they still can.
