President Trump has made revising or even repealing the Dodd-Frank Act a priority. The law was passed in response to the banking crisis that helped spark the Great Recession, and Congressman Bill Huizenga of Zeeland is on board. He says small banks are being hurt by the regulations.

“Simple fact is these local banks did not cause any kind of downfall in the economy,” says Huizenga. “They are just getting absolutely hammered, so I’m very pleased that the President is meeting with them and getting their input.”

President Trump met Thursday with local bankers from across the country to find out exactly how the regulations have impacted them.
