Last Night
Detroit Pistons 109, Chicago Bulls 95
Charlotte Hornets 100, Indiana Pacers 88

Pistons 109, Bulls 95 – Jackson’s big second half lifts Pistons over Bulls, 109-95
Reggie Jackson scored 24 of his 26 points in the second half, and the Detroit Pistons pulled away down the stretch for a 109-95 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night. The Pistons climbed into a tie for the No. 7 spot in the Eastern Conference with the Bulls, who were playing without injured Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo. Jackson’s performance has been spotty this season, and at times backup Ish Smith has seemed like a better option late in games. But Jackson was instrumental in helping the Pistons take control in a game Monday that was tied at 79 after three quarters. Detroit started the fourth with a 12-3 run and held Chicago to 16 points in the quarter.     Jimmy Butler scored 27 points for Chicago.

Hornets 100, Pacers 88 – Kemba Walker leads Hornets past Pacers, 100-88
Kemba Walker scored 28 points, Nicolas Batum added 21 and the Charlotte Hornets beat the Indiana Pacers 100-88 on Monday night. Returning home after their victory Saturday in Denver, the Hornets notched consecutive wins for the first time since Jan. 20-21. Paul George had 36 points on 15-of-25 shooting for the Pacers (32-31), who were playing the final game of a five-game road trip. Charlotte (28-35) used a fast start to provide enough cushion to cruise to the victory, despite Indiana’s second-half comeback attempt that sliced the Hornets’ lead to 82-75 with 8:12 remaining. Jeremy Lamb sank a 3-pointer and a layup for the Hornets, however, to keep the Pacers at bay. Five players scored in double digits for the Hornets, including 14 from Lamb, 13 points and 11 rebounds from Cody Zeller, and 11 points and 13 rebounds from Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

NBA – Benton Harbor’s Chandler has a career high 36 for Nuggets
Wilson Chandler scored a career-high 36 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, helping the Denver Nuggets weather the absence of Nikola Jokic to beat the Sacramento Kings 108-96. The Nuggets snapped a five-game skid against Sacramento and remained entrenched in the Western Conference’s final playoff spot.

Sproul is out with a knee injury. He had one goal and six assists in 27 games this season. The 24-year-old Russo had 31 points and a plus-14 rating with the Grand Rapids Griffins and was an American Hockey League All-Star this season. The Westmont, Illinois, native had an AHL-best plus-40 rating for the Griffins last year, his first as a pro, and became the first in franchise history to make the second All-Star and All-Rookie teams in the same season. The Chicago Bears have re-signed tight end Daniel Brown to a one-year contract, and tendered rights to wide receiver Josh Bellamy and defensive back Bryce Callahan. The Bears made the roster moves Monday ahead of the start of the new league year later this week. Brown started last season with Baltimore before being released and signing with Chicago. Brown started three games for the Bears and had 16 catches for 124 yards and a touchdown. Bellamy has appeared in 44 career games with three teams. NFL – AP source: Raiders find new financing for Las Vegas stadium
The Oakland Raiders have told the NFL they have found a new partner to finance their proposed stadium in Las Vegas: Bank of America. A person familiar with the Raiders’ plans said Monday the team presented the new proposal with financing backed by Bank of America to the NFL’s stadium and finance committees. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the plan was not made public. The Raiders had been seeking a new partner for the proposed $1.9 billion, 65,0-seat domed stadium after casino magnate Sheldon Adelson withdrew a $650 million pledge last month.  The state of Nevada has committed $750 million to the project, while the Raiders and NFL would pay the remaining $500 million if three-quarters of the league’s owners approve a move. A vote could come at the owners meetings later this month.
