Le’Veon Bell rushed for a team playoff-record 167 yards and two touchdowns as the Pittsburgh Steelers whipped Miami, 30-12 to reach the AFC divisional round. Antonio Brown had five receptions for 124 yards, most of it coming on touchdown grabs of 50 and 62 yards in the first quarter. Ben Roethlisberger threw just 18 times the entire game, completing 13 for 197 yards, two TDs and a pair of interceptions.
Packers 38, Giants 13 – Packers thump Giants
Aaron Rodgers threw for 362 yards and four touchdowns as the Green Bay Packers ripped the New York Giants, 38-13 to advance to the NFC divisional round. Rodgers engineered four straight scoring drives for 24 points in the second half after the Giants pulled within 14-13. Reggie Cobb had three touchdown receptions and Davante Adams finished with eight catches for 125 yards and a score.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope hit a 3-pointer with 9.4 seconds left and the Detroit Pistons outlasted the Portland Trail Blazers 125-124 in double-overtime Sunday night in a game postponed a day because of a winter storm. Reggie Jackson led Detroit with 31 points, Andre Drummond had 28 points and 14 rebounds, and Caldwell-Pope finished with 26. CJ McCollum had 35 points for Portland. He has scored 20 points or more in seven straight games and is averaging 33.8 points in the last five. Allen Crabbe added a career-high 30 points.

Blackhawks 5, Predators 2 – Hartman leads Blackhawks to 5-2 win against Predators
Ryan Hartman scored off a goalmouth scramble in the third period and tacked on two empty-netters, helping the Chicago Blackhawks beat the banged-up Nashville Predators 5-2 on Sunday night. Artemi Panarin and Niklas Hjalmarsson also scored for the Blackhawks, who have won the first three of a four-game homestand. Patrick Kane added three assists, running his team-best total to 32 in 43 games, and Corey Crawford made 25 saves. Hartman was credited with his eighth of the season when Richard Panik’s shot created a scrum in front of the net, and the referees ruled the puck crossed the line before the goal was dislodged. It looked as if the puck might have gone off Hartman’s left hand while he battled Nashville defenseman Yannick Weber for position. Nashville pulled Pekka Rinne for an extra attacker with 1:39 left, and Hartman added two more goals for his first career hat trick. The big night for the rookie moved him into fifth on the team with 10 goals.

Sonny Dykes is out as football coach at California. He held the job for four seasons with one bowl appearance. Dykes left Louisiana Tech to take over the Cal program in 2013 but things never really improved. After going 8-5 in 2015 the program slid back to 5-7 this season.
NCAAFB – Buckeyes lose receiver
Ohio State wide receiver Noah Brown says he’s going to skip his final two years of eligibility to enter the NFL draft. Brown was a starter last season for the first time and finished second on the team to Curtis Samuel in receiving, catching 30 passes for 385 yards. Brown joins Buckeyes teammates’ linebacker Raekwon McMillan, cornerback Gareon Conley and safety Malik Hooker in departing early for the NFL.

Purdue used a 12-0 run midway in the second half to take control.

Marina Mabrey scored 15 points and No. 7 Notre Dame beat No. 14 Miami 67-55 on Sunday. The Irish (15-2, 3-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) extended a seven-point lead after three periods with an 8-0 run to start the fourth quarter. Kathryn Westbeld scored six points during the run and her two free throws with 7:51 remaining capped the surge and made it 59-44. Westbeld finished with 14 points, and Arike Ogunbowale scored 11 points for the Irish. Brianna Turner added 10 rebounds, but was held to seven points, seven behind her season average. Miami (13-3, 2-2) got no closer than 63-52 on Khaila Prather’s jumper with 3:11 remaining. Jessica Thomas scored 15 points, and Adrienne Motley had 14 for the Hurricanes.
