Black Friday is getting some serious competition from Cyber Monday among Michigan shoppers. AAA’s latest Consumer Pulse survey in the state shows, this time around, Michiganders are split on which day they’ll use to snag the best deals. Spokesperson Susan Hiltz.

“There’s really a toss-up with Michiganders between Black Friday and Cyber Monday,” Hiltz said. “It’s pretty much a 50-50 split between the popularity of both those days for shopping, but it definitely is a big shopping time this year.”

Hiltz tells us Michigan shoppers on average plan to spend more than $800 on gifts this year, about a 20% increase over last year. The biggest ticket items are clothing, gift cards, toys, books, and electronics.
