A wide variety of personal care items are being collected at Village Market in South Haven to help the needy in Van Buren County. Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency and SuperHits 103.7 COSY FM are once again conducting Project Personal Care through 2 p.m. Saturday.
“We’re looking for shampoo, toilet paper, diapers, toothpaste, deodorant, anything that you use that we take advantage of every day,” says SMCAA operations manager Kim Smith-Oldham. She says people on state aid need some help, as WIC doesn’t pay for diapers, for instance.
Cash donations are accepted along with purchasing pre-filled bags of supplies or grabbing a list and shopping for things yourself. Items are being collected until 6 p.m. tonight and again from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
