If you’re interested in law enforcement, the Michigan State Police post in Paw Paw may have the right class for you. It’s offering a citizen’s academy set to start this month. Post Lieutenant Dale Hinz tells WSJM News, for eight weeks, troopers will teach their students all about the tools of their trade.

“We’ll be going over traffic safety, criminal investigations, crime scene processing, some other aspects of community outreach, and things of that nature,” Hinz said.

The classes start on September 26, and registrations are being taken now. Each session will be on a Monday from 6 to 8 p.m., through November 21. Hinz tells us the academy is intended to forge a better understanding between police and the community. To sign up, call the state police Paw Paw post at 269-657-5551.
