Road construction in southwest Michigan should start winding down for the year in the next couple of months. The Michigan Department of Transportation’s Nick Schirripa says work in Berrien County will be finished by the end of October.

“We’ve got a ramp closure at Stevensville,” Schirripa told WSJM. “That one’s supposed to be wrapped up in early September, September 9 is when we have it tentatively scheduled for, so a lot of that stuff will be wrapped up this year, and we’ll be plowing through it as best as we can.”

The I-94 work between Stevensville and Bridgman will also be done in October. Schirripa says most projects are on schedule. They’ll know for sure if the weather has impacted the completion dates for some work by around early October.
