Orchards Mall's owners say they aren't directly suing the Overflow Church. Sequoia Investments V President Chad Christensen says in a written statement that the Overflow Church is only named in the pending litigation with the former Sears building owner Owen Moran. He says Sequoia is only trying to protect the mall's long-term viability. On Tuesday, Overflow Church Lead Pastor Rev. Brian Bennett told WSJM he wasn't surprised by the lawsuit, because Sequoia was trying to sell the mall. But, Christensen says the mall is not for sale.
