The Lakeland Auxiliary has pledged $500,000 for the construction of Lakeland HealthCare's regional cancer center. Over the years, the group has raised and donated more than $3.1 million to 65 different Lakeland programs. Lakeland HealthCare's new cancer center will provide a variety of oncology services at one central location. It will be a two-story facility connecting to the Center for Outpatient Services. Lakeland plans to break ground on the new cancer center this spring at Lakeland Health Park. The center plans to open in the fall of 2011.
