Saint Joseph Township leaders got positive reviews recently for their management of local finances. Township Supervisor Roger Seely says that Bob Gerbel, of the auditing firm Gerbel and Company PC, has presented the 2009 audit, noting no problems. The township oversees eleven special accounts, which were all found to be in healthy condition, and Gerbel commended the board of trustees for adhering to a lean budget over the past year. Seely says that Gerbel also told members that he could not recall in all his years of accounting, ever not having to make adjusting closing journal entries to an entity’s financial books. Township Manager Tim Fenderbosche thanked department heads and employees for holding the line on spending in tight times...and Seely said that “the bar for financial performance has been raised at the township.”
