Bangor Man Could Face Charges After Allegedly Running Over Son

A Bangor man is likely facing drunk driving charges after accidentally running over his seven-year-old son over the weekend. The Van Buren County Sheriff's Department says the child climbed onto the vehicle without 44-year-old Michael Canning noticing when he had driven onto a relative's property to tell some children to quiet down. He hit a bump driving into a parking lot, causing the young boy to fall off and be run over by a back tire. The child suffered cuts and scrapes and a broken arm. Canning told investigators he had been drinking and police said his blood-alcohol content was quote, "well over the legal limit." The child is expected to make a full recovery.
